When it comes to event planning Randall and the team have the Midas touch. On the day of the Christmas Party the Gold Coast was experiencing the wettest day of the month. Over 20mm of rain that fell that morning, during one of the heavy falls a group SMS was sent from Randall and in true Christmas Spirit, it said the “Xmas party was still on and the weather will improve, I promise.”
As soon as the official start time passed, so had all the inclement weather, the clouds shuffled around to give the sun an ever increasing space to shine.
As the anchorage came into view along the aptly named Millionaires row, it looked like there was an extended family gathering. You could see the distinct family resemblance, all branches of the family were represented too, Flybridges, SUV’s, Sport Yachts and Sports Cruisers.
25 Riviera’s and a multitude of other craft backed the call and rendezvoused for the last time for 2015. A very relaxed atmosphere was a great tonic to quell the busy feeling this time of year creates.
For some, this was their 4th Experience/Rendezvous for the year, others with new boats made it their first event for the year. After hearing stories regaled of the fantastic trip to Lady Musgrave Island in September the Christmas party is just the start of many more adventures next year.
Christmas is a time for family and giving, the Christmas Party is the opportunity for the team to thank their boating family for their support during the year and give back with a rendezvous that included a gourmet luncheon. A variety of tantalising salads, gourmet meats & cheeses were followed by special deserts made by Melinda that were a big hit and didn’t last long.
Randall and Melinda delivered each boat owner a gift to thank them for their support. The kids had smiles on their faces with their gifts and the smiles continued all day for the kids with so much energy expended flying through the air off the water trampoline having fun and making new friends.
A truly spectacular day was had and we look forward to many more great Rendezvous, Events and Experiences in 2016, we wish you all a happy and safe summer on the water!
