In this Tips and Tricks video, Randall shows us an easy and safe way to clean the sea strainer in your Riviera.
Most sea strainers will be similar to the one in the video, just be sure to turn the seacock valve off so you don’t accidentally flood your boat!
Another useful tip is to clean the strainer in a bucket instead of in the ocean water. This ensures that you can’t accidentally drop the strainer and lose it. This is especially easy if there is a fresh water hose fitted in your engine room.
Once you put the strainer back together, make sure you check for leaks and ensure the seal is clean and the bolts are fitted firmly.
