The annual R Marine Jones Great Sandy Straits Trip will be held from Thursday the 24th September to Thursday the 1st of October 2015. We will depart the Gold Coast Broadwater on the Thursday afternoon and head north to a suitable anchorage in Moreton Bay where we will start the event. The Anchorage and start point will allow the Gold Coast and Brisbane people to join us at their leisure some time before dark. Friday morning will be an early start so we can travel non-stop as a group to Fraser Island. Our goal is to spend 2 days at Lady Musgrave Island which will mean an overnight stop in Bundaberg for fuel. If the weather is not suitable to head offshore then we will spend our time away in the protected areas along the inside of Fraser Island. The trip is suitable for most diesel powered vessels that have a range of over 300nm in ocean running conditions. If you are not sure whether or not your boat is suitable for this trip then please call Randall to discuss. The proposed itinerary and registration form will be sent out to those who register.
